The founder of BTM Advisors, John Bishop, has over 20 years of experience in the energy and energy investment banking industries. Mr. Bishop is in a unique position to offer clients the benefit of expertise in investment banking and in the energy industry including  its technical and operating aspects. Prior to founding BTM Advisors in 2003, Mr. Bishop spent over ten years in New York and Houston with some of the top investment banking firms in the country.  Prior to entering investment banking, Mr. Bishop was in the exploration department of Exxon Corp. and was responsible for developing, capturing and drilling exploration prospects in the Gulf of Mexico. Mr. Bishop received a B.A. degree from Colgate University in 1980, a M.S. degree in Geology from the University of South Carolina in 1982 and a M.B.A. degree from the University of Texas – Austin in 1988.
